ABOUT OUR BEEF

Our original bloodlines were sourced from top breeders in Australia. All our bulls used in the breeding program are registered with the South African Wagyu Society and part of the Certified South African Beef program.

Our breeding stock graze in the Eastern Free State on lush green pastures until the calves are ready to wean. They are then put on the best quality feed available until they are 12 months old.

We then take the calves on a road trip from the
primary producers in the Freestate to the irrigation property in Prieska in the Northern Cape Province of South Africa where our feedlot is situated.

Karoo Wagyu’s signature feeding program was developed by animal nutritionists from South Africa and Australia, with the main emphasis on Wagyu production. What sets our grain-fed wagyu beef apart is the diet that is tailored to harness every gram of our own farm produced, GMO-Free wheat straw, GMO-Free maize silage and GMO-Free maize.
Lucerne used in our signature grower ration is also grown on the property. All the GMO-Free products are produced by us and we have complete control over it. All our cattle is fed for an average of 380 days in the feedlot that ensures a  consistent product.
Karoo Wagyu is a licensed participant in Certified South-African Wagyu Beef dedicated to ensuring Wagyu quality and integrity to our customers.
